IBPS Exam Pattern 2013 – PO, SO Pattern

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Conducts exam for the recruitment of Specialist Officers, Clerks and Probationary Officer. IBPS conducted the exams in 2012 for the first time. In 2013, IBPS is conducting the exam on 16th or 17 March for the post of specialist officers in 20 nationalized banks.

These 20 Nationalized banks don’t include State Bank of India ( SBI) and private banks such as ICICI and HDFC. However they include most of the other famous and well known banks such as PNB, BOB, Indian Bank and others.

IBPS Exam Pattern for all the 3 posts – Specialist officer, Probationary officer and clerk is almost same. However, difficulty level is less in clerk exams.

Here is the IBPS Exam Pattern 2013:

  • Test of Reasoning : 50 Marks
  • Test of English Language – 50 Marks
  • General Awareness ( Includes Banking questions) – 50 Marks
  • Professional Knowledge – 50 Marks

Each of 4 sections include 50 Questions each. It simply means:

200 Questions – 200 Marks – 120 Minutes

For every Negative answer, 1/4th i.e. 0.25 marks will be deducted for that question.

Professional Knowledge for specialist officer depends on the post which you are applying. If you are applying for IT officer or Technical officer, then professional knowledge would include questions from computers, networking and DBMS.

If you applied for law, then questions will come from Law. Like that marketing candidates will get marketing questions in their professional knowledge.

Professional Knowledge for all Engineering candidates in PO , SO and Clerk will be only the computer knowledge.
