[ www.ibps.in ] Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts exam for various posts such as probationary officers, assistants, clerks, administrative officers, specialist officers etc. in banking and insurance sector. IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB and IBPS specialist officers exams are the most famous ones. All the public sector banks participate in the process. Vacancies are combined from all the banks and a single exam is taken for the above post for all banks. For RRB’s, all gramin banks across the country participate in the process to get probationary officers, assistants and specialist officers.
Beside these, IBPS also conducts exams for SBI PO, SBI Clerk and SBI Associates PO & clerk.

Important: For RRB Junior Engineer and Senior Section Engineer, you need to choose separate RRB’s. If you choose same RRB, both forms will be rejected. Read notification carefully.
IBPS exam for the post of probationary officers and clerks will be conducted in 2 phases:
- Prelims ( Not applicable for IBPS RRB and IBPS Specialist Officers)
Due to increasing number of candidates year by year IBPS introduced prelims and mains just like UPSC exams. It will shortlist the most eligible students. However the prelims exam will be easy as compared to mains exams. Both will be objective type in nature. The number of questions in bank prelims online questions paper will be less.
IBPS Prelims Pattern for 2015 ( As given in SBI PO 2015 notification. Hopefully it will be same for other too) :
- English Question – 30 Questions – 30 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude – 35 Questions – 35 Marks
- Logical Reasoning – 35 Questions – 35 Marks
Total no. of questions = 100 Total time = 100 Minutes
If you are able to qualify the above paper (prelims) then you will be able to give mains exams. If you filled the SBI PO application for this year then you already know the pattern of prelims and mains.
IBPS Probationary Officers Exam 2015
IBPS PO Preliminary exam will be conducted in the month of October 2015. The mains exam will be conducted on 31st October 2015. The exam dates for PO prelims 2015 are : 3,4,10 and 11th October.
If you are planning to appear for the IBPS probationary exam then you should start your preparation from right now. You need enough practice to crack the paper with good marks and finally get a seat. Competition is very high for banking exams these days and almost 2.5 million candidates will be giving IBPS PO exam this year. There will be close to 20,000 vacancies just like last time. Number of vacancies are disclosed only after the exam. As banks provide good salaries than IT sector engineering students will also be giving exams. If you are from some other graduation streams then you really need to work hard on you maths and reasoning portion to match with engg. graduates.
Get the books and start your preparation from right now. Try to get all basics of 4 sections and then solve practice papers as much as you can. Practice makes a man perfect.
IBPS Clerk V CWE 2015
IBPS Clerk 2015 exam will be conducted in the month of December 2015. The preliminary exams will be conducted throughout the month of December on 5,6,12,13,19,20 December. The mains exams will be conducted on 3rd January 2016. Close to 40,000 vacancies were there last time so we can expect similar number of vacancies this time also.
Try to buy one guide and practice set papers. Solve chapter by chapter from the guide and then solve practice papers before the exam. It will increase your speed in solving the questions. Time is very limited and you have to solve 200 questions. If you don’t have a good speed in solving then many questions will be left out. The exam is conducted online so there is a chance that you will not be able to see many questions due to slow speed. Clerk exam is quite easy if you have even 2 months of practice.
IBPS RRB PO, Clerk and IBPS Specialist Officers
The prelims will not be conducted for both these examinations. They will be conducted just like last year. A single paper will be taken and merit will be made based on that paper and interview marks. If you want to join Gramin banks in your area then you have to give IBPS regional rural bank PO and Assistant exam. You have to score really good marks in order to get interview call. Counselling is not centralized and you have to fill separate forms for each gramin bank when their vacancies are declared.
IBPS specialist officers exam will be conducted on 30 and 31st January 2016. Start your preparation from right now as the specialist officers exam is tough nut to crack due to low number of vacancies. Cut off marks are quite high for post like IT officers, law officer, agriculture officer etc. You also need to prepare your professional subject too. If you are from IT then you need to read about computer, databases, sql etc.
State Bank of India PO and Clerk Exams 2015
SBI PO, SBI Clerk, SBI Associates PO and SBI Assistant exams are also conducted by IBPS. The pattern of these papers will also be the same as IBPS PO and Clerk exams. Prelims and mains will be conducted for all these papers.
SBI PO 2015 recruitment notification has already been released. You can apply right away on the official website of SBI. Prelims will be conducted in the month of June 2015. You need to prepare hard for this exam as SBI is the toughest to crack.
